What We Do
We provide heat treating services to the Aerospace, Automotive, Medical, Electronics and Machine Tool industries.
Established in 1962, we are a specialty heat treating and brazing facility located in Cranston, RI.
Our Capabilities
Let Spectrum review your needs; using capabilities designed to add value to your work.
A variety of atmospheres are available for heat treating. Clean and inert gas can protect parts from oxidation at temp, hydrogen reducing atmospheres can actively clean parts, and vacuum processing can boost surface finish to a mirror sheen!
Learn More about AtmospheresWe have developed specialized furnace brazing techniques that allow for consistent, repeatable, and high volume production. These processes yield exceptionally strong bonds between similar or dissimilar materials.
Learn More about BrazingMany processes require cold processing. At Spectrum Thermal Processing we don't just handle the hot thermal processes, we also have a suite of sub-zero treatments as well. Deep freeze operations take parts down as low as -120°F to enhance microstructure stability. For more extreme processes we support cryogenic freezing in liquid nitrogen down to -373°F.
Learn More about Deep Freeze, Cryo FreezeWe can help with assembling and fixturing requirements for your parts. This department also includes three bell type furnaces for aging, tempering, low temperature brazing and soldering. Numerous air furnaces and a deep freeze unit round out the department.
Learn More about Hardening, Annealing, AgingRapid cooling is critical to many heat tratments. See how our vacuum integral oil and high pressure gas quenching systems can transform your materials.
Learn More about Quenching OptionsSpectrum can improve the surface performance of steel components by gas Nitriding or Low Pressure Vacuum Carburizing. Spectrum can also ferritic nitrocarburize. We have invested considerable resources in developing these processes and are intimately familiar with how to manipulate the processing parameters to achieve your quality requirements.
